Vintage Energy and joint venture partner Comet Ridge Limited (ASX: COI) are pleased to provide an update on the ongoing drilling operations at the Albany-1 well in the north eastern Galilee Basin. At 0600 hrs this morning, the rig was drilling ahead at 1336 metres in the 8-1/2” intermediate hole section, part-way through the Jochmus Formation.
Vintage Energy and joint venture partner Comet Ridge Limited (ASX: COI) spudded the Albany-1 sandstone appraisal well at 1430 hrs on Saturday, 19 May 2018 utilising Easternwell’s Rig 101. At 0600 hrs this morning, the rig was drilling ahead at 711 metres in 12-1/4” surface hole and was approaching surface casing point.
Drilling of the Albany-1 gas appraisal well in the Galilee Basin is expected to start next week. Vintage Energy Ltd and joint venture partner Comet Ridge Limited (ASX:COI) expect to begin moving the Easternwell Rig 101 to the Albany-1 location in the north eastern Galilee Basin when it completes its present contractual obligations.
The Albany-1 high-impact, deep sandstone appraisal well is subsequently expected to spud next week.
